MUSEUM OF SOLIDARITY IS A COLLECTION OF STORIES ABOUT GRASS-ROOT SOLIDARITY INITIATIVES AND ACTIONS IN EUROPE. STORIES OF PEOPLE: NON-FORMAL, BOTTOM-UP GROUPS, BIG OR SMALL, OR SOMETIMES LONE WOLVES, HELPING OR STANDING IN SOLIDARITY WITH OTHER PEOPLE IN TIMES OF NEED OR CRISIS.

We are not bringing you these stories because we want to sing heroes – a lot of people we interviewed specifically asked us not to – but because we would like to inspire, connect and share ideas.

WE STARTED WITH STORIES FROM SIX EUROPEAN COUNTRIES, AND WE WISH TO GROW THE COLLECTION AND THE COMMUNITY AROUND IT.

Museum of Solidarity was created in the project CELEBRATING SOLIDARITY by six civil society organisations from six European countries: The Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation (Serbia), DemNet (Hungary), RadioFonia Foundation (Poland), Partners Albania (Albania), MultiKulti Collective (Bulgaria), and Mladiinfo International (Macedonia). See more about the project on the project website.

WHY WE PREFER AUDIO INTERVIEWS?

Because we want to present open, free-spoken interviews with volunteers and beneficiaries. People open up more easily if there is no camera pointed at them. Most interviewees forget about the sound recorder after the first five minutes. And because this way we can offer materials for radio and podcast.

WHO MAKES THE STORIES?

Our crew members have grass-root or humanitarian experience themselves, this way we can deliver an insider view, and an ethical approach in interviews and covering stories. See more about us in OUR CREW.
